Medicine Hat Tigers sign Denis Pasler to WHL Scholarship and Development Deal

Jul 30, 2026 | 11:59 AM

There will be a fresh pair of European faces on the Medicine Hat Tigers this coming season.

The club announced the signing of 2008-born defenseman Denis Pasler to a WHL Scholarship and Development contract, meaning the club has now inked both of their 2026 CHL Import Draft selections.

With Veeti Vaisanen (UTA) set to forego his 20-year-old season to play pro hockey in Finland and Niilopekka Muhonen set to begin his pro hockey career with the Dallas Stars organization, the Tigers needed to fill the holes left by their two departing Imports.

They’ve now done that.

With the signing of Swedish-born forward Arvid Drott (FLA) earlier this month, the return of Yaroslav Bryzglov (VAN) for a second season, Pasler marks the third and final Import the Tigers can carry into the 2026-27 WHL Season.

Pasler spent last season with AKM Tula of the MHL, putting up six points and 50 penalty minutes over 49 games.

The product of Yekaterinburg, RUS, lists at 6’5″, 227 lbs and joins Mace’o Phillips, Jake Burmis, Hunter Saddleback, and Nash Springer as fresh signings on the blue line ahead of the 2026-27 WHL Season.
