Medicine Hat Tigers sign Calgary Flames draft-pick Mace’o Phillips
Nearly one month after acquiring the rights to Mace’o Phillips from the Portland Winterhawks, the Medicine Hat Tigers have signed him to a WHL Scholarship and Development Agreement.
Phillips, a third-round pick of the Calgary Flames in 2025, spent his 2025-26 campaign with the USHL’s Green Bay Gamblers, putting up 11 points and 187 PIM’s over 44 games.
The Wayzata, MN, product immediately becomes a front-runner for top minutes on a Tigers blue line that is returning only two of its starting six from last season.
Mace’o becomes the fifth NHL-drafted skater on the Tigers’ roster for the upcoming 2026-27 season, joining the Ruck twins, Yaroslav Bryzgalov, and recently signed CHL Import selection, Arvid Drott.
