Medicine Hat council advances recreation, housing and water initiatives
Medicine Hat City Council moved forward with several agenda items during its meeting on Tuesday.
The Facilities for the Future recreation renewal initiative received support to move forward; all councillors but Coun. Cheryl Phaff had voted in support.
Administration had recommended that Council move forward with negotiations to acquire land in the city’s south end for recreation amenities and restart the preliminary design process for a south-side outdoor aquatics project.
The recommendation also calls for exploring provincial and federal funding, advancing planning work in the Brier Run area and developing a long-term framework to guide recreation facility investments and priorities.
