On Saturday, it’s expected to be sunny, with wind gusts up to 50 km/h in the morning, shifting to a mix of sun and cloud in the afternoon. The daytime high is set to reach 39 C with a UV index of eight.

The evening shows clear and windy with a low of 15 C.

Environment Canada Meteorologist Brian Proctor said a cool system is expected to move in, with the potential to shift that to severe thunderstorms.

On Sunday, the forecast shows sunny with a high of 27 C, and in the evening clear and windy with a low of 8 C.

Monday forecast is a mix of sun and cloud with a high of 21 C. The evening shows clear with a low of 8 C.

🎾 Tennis Alberta Junior U12 and U16 3.5 Star Tournament

FRIDAY, SATURDAY, and SUNDAY

The Medicine Hat Tennis Club will welcome some of Alberta’s top young tennis players this weekend for the Tennis Alberta Junior U12 and U16 3.5 Star Tournament.

The event runs Friday through Sunday with about 50 athletes expected to compete from across the province.

Four local athletes will represent the Medicine Hat Tennis Club, including Rowan Ferris and Nirvi Singh in the U12 division and Thomas and Mike Fentabil in U16.

The public is invited to watch at no cost at the Medicine Hat Tennis Club, located at 1711 21 Street S.E.

Matches start Friday and Saturday at 8 a.m., with Sunday’s start time to be determined.

⚾️ Baseball Alberta 18U AA Tier 1 Championship

FRIDAY, SATURDAY, and SUNDAY

The Medicine Hat 18U Mavericks host the 2026 Baseball Alberta 18U AA Tier 1 Championship this weekend at Athletic Park.

Games will run Friday to Sunday.

The Mavs have two games at Athletic Park on Friday. They take on Chestermere at 9 a.m. and the YQL Sluggers at 6 p.m.

On Saturday, the Mavs shift over to Jeffries Park for a 9 a.m. game against the Clive Coyotes.

Sunday will feature tie-breakers, the semi-finals, and the Championship game.

All games are free to attend, and a concession will be available at Athletic Park.

🚎 Sunshine Trolley: Guided City Tour

FRIDAY, SATURDAY and SUNDAY

The Sunshine Trolley: Guided City Tour, fuelled by South Country Co-op, is running multiple times this weekend in Medicine Hat.

The tours offer an in-depth guided experience led by local Medicine Hat residents, highlighting the history of neighbourhoods, streets, and some of the city’s most recognizable landmarks.

Stops along the route will give passengers the chance to hop off and briefly explore key areas before continuing the tour.

Pick-up is at the Visitor Information Centre at 330 Gehring Rd. SW

Children 12 and under ride free thanks to sponsorship from the Medicine Hat Mavericks.

Tickets are required and available online at the Tourism Medicine Hat website.

Tours are about 90 minutes and are scheduled Friday and Saturday at 9:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m., and Sunday at 10 a.m.

⚾️ Baseball Alberta 15U AA Tier 2 Provincial Championships

FRIDAY, SATURDAY and SUNDAY

Medicine Hat will welcome six teams from across Alberta this weekend as the Baseball Alberta 15U AA Tier 2 Provincial Championships come to Kin Coulee Park.

The tournament, hosted by Medicine Hat Big League Baseball, runs from Friday through Sunday, with all games taking place at Kin Coulee.

Play begins Friday at 3 p.m., with opening ceremonies scheduled immediately following the opening game.

The host Medicine Hat Majestics will play their first game of the tournament at 6 p.m. on Friday before returning to the diamond for their second round-robin matchup at noon on Saturday.

Championship and consolation games will be played on Sunday, following the completion of the round-robin action.

Tournament organizers are encouraging the community to come out to Kin Coulee to support the Majestics throughout the weekend.

A concession serving burgers and other ballpark favourites will be open during the event.

🚶 Historic First Street Southeast Walking Tour

SATURDAY

The Historic First Street Southeast Walking Tour takes place on Saturday at 10 a.m.

Residents and visitors will have the opportunity to explore one of Medicine Hat’s oldest neighbourhoods on a guided walking tour highlighting the city’s early history.

The approximately one-hour tour takes participants along the tree-lined First Street S.E., formerly known as the Esplanade, where guides share stories about the area’s earliest settlers, historic homes and distinctive architecture.

Organizers say each tour offers a unique look at the people and buildings that helped shape Medicine Hat while providing participants with a deeper connection to the city’s past.

The tour departs from the Esplanade at 401 First St. S.E. and includes a complimentary walking tour guide.

Participants are encouraged to dress appropriately for the weather and wear suitable footwear, as portions of the route include uneven walking surfaces.

The tour is weather dependent and may be rescheduled if conditions are unfavourable.

Organizers also note that low registration could result in a date change.

Advance registration is recommended as space is limited.

🌮 El Super Taco Anniversary Celebration

SATURDAY

El Super Taco celebrates its third anniversary on Saturday.

The event will include the official food truck grand opening, an official ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by the Southeast Alberta Chamber of Commerce, and a celebration of their Sello M recognition with a special guest from the Consulate of Mexico in Calgary.

The event runs from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. at El Super Taco in Box Springs.

The Medicine Hat Mavericks host the Swift Current 57s at Athletic Park on Saturday at 6:45 p.m.

It’s the final regular-season home game for the Mavericks, who will be on the road for three games following.

Saturday is Fan Appreciation Night with giveaways and souvenir savings, according to the Mavs.

Jesse LeBourdais and Ghost Factory are at The Yard in Downtown Medicine Hat on Saturday night.

The show starts at 8 p.m., and there is no cover charge.

A concert set to include folk storytelling and punk rock energy.

🚮 Medicine Hat Interpretive Program Litter Pick Up Event

SUNDAY

The Medicine Hat Interpretive Program is hosting a litter picking event in Police Point Park on Sunday at 10 a.m.

The meeting spot is the Nature Centre, with litter picked up until 11 a.m.

There will be some light snacks and refreshments for volunteers to enjoy from 11 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. following.

Bags and gloves will be provided; registration is not required.
