Dr. Reagan Weeks wins Women In Business Inspire Award

“Such an incredible honour, although they gave the award to me, nothing happens in education without a team,” Weeks said.

Weeks was also recently named as the recipient of the 2026 Honorary Applied Baccalaureate Degree from Medicine Hat College.

Weeks has spent more than 20 years working in education across school communities.

Starting her career in the classroom, Weeks went on to complete a Bachelor of Education, a Master of Business Administration and a Doctor of Education, building a career that has moved into senior leadership in southern Alberta’s K-12 system.

She has also helped build expanded dual credit pathways for students across southeastern Alberta.

Weeks said being named the recipient of the Inspire Award is especially meaningful because she is inspired by the women who have received the honour before her and by this year’s nominees.

“There’s a lot of people who I’ve had the opportunity to collaborate with in the past, and who I admire,” Weeks said.

“We are so fortunate to live in a place where we have this many people contributing to our great community.”

Beyond her work in education leadership, Weeks is also involved in community initiatives, serving as a director with the Medicine Hat Women’s Shelter Society and contributing to the Beej Project.

Weeks said community partnerships have been key to creating opportunities for students across the region.

“Those collaborations have led to some really innovative work and have provided enhanced prospects for those in the region and would have been impossible to do alone as a singular organization,” Weeks said.

Pointed specifically to partnerships with Medicine Hat College and Super T Aviation, Weeks said, helped expand dual-credit and aviation-focused learning opportunities for students.

“The willingness in this community to take some risks and to join forces together to create something unique and special for our region is second to none,” said Weeks.

The committee said in a social media post that her passion and commitment to excellence continue to uplift our entire community.

They also thanked all the nominees for showing them what true leadership and inspiration look like.

Weeks said the recognition ultimately reflects the efforts of many people throughout her career.

“There’s a whole lot of people behind this, and I’m just so lucky to have them for sure,” Weeks said.
