The program will operate out of the hospital’s Women’s Health Clinic and is aimed at providing more timely, consistent and accessible care for patients with breast health concerns.

Services will include physician consultations, coordination of breast biopsies, arranging blood work and diagnostic imaging, and referrals to other healthcare providers.

It will also feature nurse navigators specializing in breast health and cancer care, who will guide patients through assessment, diagnosis, treatment and recovery, while offering education, advocacy and help with treatment decisions.

Officials say the program is designed to improve care coordination across agencies, expand emotional and educational supports, and reduce barriers to accessing diagnostics and treatment.

The pilot will be evaluated over three years to assess its effectiveness and determine whether it can be sustained long term.

The foundation says the initiative reflects its continued commitment to advancing local healthcare, under its motto, “Together We Can.”
