Mar 3, 2025 | 3:33 PM

The Maple Creek Hawks have again won their second consecutive White Mud Hockey League title over the weekend.

For the second season in a row the Hawks won the senior hockey league title over the Gull Lake Greyhounds.

After being able to celebrate in their home rink last season, the Hawks took home the championship in Gull Lake this year.

A 3-2 win in game four gave the Hawks the 3-1 series win in a best of five.

After coming out of the regular season in third place with a 8-4 record, the Hawks defeated the Shaunavon Badgers two games to one in round one.

After dropping their first two games to the Eatonia Huskies in round two, the Hawks won the next three to take the best of five.

The fourth-seed Greyhounds had not lost a playoff game heading into the finals, and a two game sweep of the Cabri Bulldogs in round one, and a three-game sweep of the top seed Leader Flyers in round two.

Several players on Maple Creek and a number of others on teams throughout the seven-team White Mud Hockey League reside in Medicine Hat.
