Two cats perish in south-end weekend structure fire

An investigation continues into the cause of a structure fire in southeast Medicine Hat late Saturday night.

The alarm came in around 11 p.m. on Saturday to a residence in the 700 block of 11th Street Southeast.

Damage was contained to a room and it’s contents but it’s estimated the loss was between $50 to $100,000.

Two cats also perished as the owners were absent at the time.
