It’s a busy weekend of events in Medicine Hat and area.

🐻‍❄️ Polar Plunge for charity

They’re jumping in freezing water for a good cause.

The Law Enforcement Torch Run is holding its annual Polar Plunge in support of Special Olympics Alberta.

They are able to participate by securing donations from friends, family members, co-workers, local businesses, and their community.

Organizers say it’s a great way for everyone—individuals, organizations, and businesses—to get involved in support of Special Olympics and show winter who’s boss.

A $10,000 fundraising goal has been reached as of Friday afternoon.

CHAT News’ own Jesse Gill will be taking the plunge live on CHAT TV — tune in here.

Organizer Const. Dave Allen spoke to anchor Dan Reynish on CHAT News at Noon about it on Thursday.

The plunges get underway at 5 p.m. on Friday at Mavericks Athletic Park.

🎉 E After Dark

The Esplanade Arts and Heritage Centre is hosting an E After Dark event Friday at 7 p.m. to celebrate Black History Month.

It will mark the opening of The Feminine Lived Experience art exhibition with a free, adult-only electronic dance party in collaboration with The Connection.

“Come dressed to impress for an art-infused night out in a truly unique location,” an event description reads.

🐅 Tigers back home

The boys are back in town.

The Medicine Hat Tigers return from a U.S. road trip to play their first home games of February this weekend.

The Tigers take on Swift Current on Friday and Prince Albert on Saturday.

Both games start at 7 p.m. and tickets are available online or at the box office.

Tune into the game live on Wild 94.5 radio starting with the pre-show at 6:30 p.m.
