The Medicine Hat Tigers added a 15-year old goaltender to its organization depth with the signing of Cash Christie to a Western Hockey League Scholarship and Development Agreement.

The 2009-born Christie is from North Vancouver, B.C. playing at St. George’s U-15 Prep in the Canada Sport School Hockey League during the 2023-24 season, sporting a 9-2-0 record in 14 appearances for St. George’s while also affiliating with the school’s U-17 team for four games having an .929 save percentage.

Christie spoke with members of the Medicine Hat media following his signing and said he’s looking forward to the next step in his hockey career in the Western Hockey League.

Bobby Fox, Tigers director of player personnel said Christie has pure talent when it comes to tending the net.

“Cash is a fluid skating netminder that provides a calming presence,” Fox said.

“He has great hands, strong game sense and a goalie with tremendous upside.”

Christie was drafted by the Tigers in the 2024 Prospects Draft, a fourth round pick, 83rd overall.

He joins three other goaltenders on the Tigers depth chart with 2015-born Zach Zahara, 2016-born Ethan McCallum, and 2017-born Jordan Switzer.
