Medicine Hat Tigers sign two new players to launch busy off-season

The Medicine Hat Tigers have launched a busy off-season with a pair of new player signings.

First round pick Luke Ruptash from the St. Albert Sabres said his speed can help push the Tigers closer to a championship season.

“Honestly, the history’s unreal here. Just a great organization, I couldn’t be happier where I am,” Ruptash told CHAT News.

“It’s unreal here. I hope I can build on that if I make the team in a couple years,” he said.

The other signing was for Utah product Shaeffer Gordon-Carroll, who played on Team USA’s gold winning U16 team.

He’s hoping to bring his national team experience to the squad but will be focusing on training this off-season.

“Yeah I want to get bigger, get more upper body strength, work on my shot, get more deceptive, work in the offensive zone,” Gordon-Carroll said.

“I play a 200-foot game so I think I just need to work on that,” he said.

The prospects will look to join a strong Tigers squad featuring Gavin McKenna, who was recently named CHL Rookie of the Year, and forward Cayden Lindstrom, the CHL’s Top Draft Prospect.
