Medicine Hat Fire Service respond to Christmas day apartment fire

MEDICINE HAT, AB- It wasn’t exactly a holly jolly Christmas for some residents inside an apartment at the Toronto Street towers.

The Medicine Hat Fire Service was called to the apartment complex just after 6.p.m.

Fire Captain Scott Berg said crews worked to extinguish garbage can fire in the bathroom of one of the units.

No one was hurt. But Berg said residents inside the unit were displaced after the unit sustained significant water damage due to the sprinkler system.
