Brad Paisley, Cirque du Soleil coming to Canalta Centre in 2020

MEDICINE HAT, AB — One of the biggest names in country music, and another show from Cirque du Soleil are among the events coming to the Canalta Centre in 2020.

The Canalta Centre announced Brad Paisley will be bringing his World Tour to Medicine Hat on Friday, March 13.

The centre also announced Cirque du Soleil will be returning to Medicine Hat in the summer, hosting their production of “AXEL” for seven shows between July 30 and August 2.

Paisley has been one of country music’s biggest stars since he released his debut album ‘Who Needs Pictures’ in 1999. During his career, he has won three Grammy Awards, two American Music Awards, 14 Academy of Country Music Awards and 14 Country Music Association awards, including Entertainer of the Year in 2010.

Paisley has released 11 studio albums and one Christmas album during his career. He has notched 24 Number One Hits on the country charts according to his website.

AXEL mixes ice skating, acrobatics, live music and stunning graphics, according to a description on Cirque du Soleil’s website.

Tickets for AXEL go on sale at 10 a.m. on Wednesday to the general public, while Brad Paisley tickets go on sale Friday at 10 a.m.

Tickets can be purchased online on ticketmaster.ca or in person at the Canalta Centre box office.
