Medicine Hat Catholic schools superintendent to retire in 2027
The superintendent of the Medicine Hat Catholic Board of Education (MHCBE) announced at a recent board meeting that he will retire next year after more than three decades in education.
Dr. Dwayne Zarichny will retire as superintendent of schools effective Aug. 31, 2027, following the completion of eight years with the Medicine Hat Catholic Board of Education.
Zarichny has served as superintendent since 2019. MHCBE said he has been a steady hand through significant growth and change, with a deep commitment to supporting students and staff and keeping faith at the heart of the division’s work.
“It has been an incredible privilege to serve the Medicine Hat Catholic Board of Education and to work alongside such dedicated trustees, staff, students, families and community partners,” Zarichny said in a news release.
