MEDICINE HAT, AB – An upcoming Jehovah Witness conference is expected to boost local business sales in Medicine Hat. This will be the first time Medicine Hat has hosted the conference.

The event was originally planned in 2020 before it was canceled due to COVID. It is now scheduled for the weekends of June 16 and June 23.

A total of 9,000 delegates are expected, which means full hotels in Medicine Hat and the surrounding area.

Jace Anderson of Tourism Medicine Hat says they are proud to accommodate this volume of people. He also says that local businesses need to be prepared for more customers.

“And so it’s going to have, I believe, an impact and a demand on our food and beverage sector in Medicine Hat, and that’s really exciting. And so we’re really hoping that our food and beverage operators are ready for the volume and are looking forward to being part of our welcoming host community,” Anderson explains.

The convention will be hosted at CO-OP place.
