The District Days Market returns to Medalta this weekend

Jul 9, 2026 | 2:00 PM

The District Days Market is returning to Medalta for a special two-day event celebrating the Friends of Medalta Society’s 40th anniversary.

The market will take place on Saturday, July 11 and Sunday, July 12, at the Medalta site in Medicine Hat, featuring local artisans, food trucks, live music, heritage experiences and family-friendly activities.

April Mandziak, marketing and communications at Medalta said the event reflects their goal of making the historic site welcoming and accessible for the community.

“District Days reflects what Medalta is all about,” Mandziak said.

“We want people of all ages to feel welcome here, to discover something new, connect with our history and our heritage, and experience the creativity and community that continue to shape the historic Clay District today.”

The event is part of Medalta’s Legacy Series, highlighting community connection and the site’s history through local events and programming throughout the year.

The market runs Saturday from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 713 Medalta Avenue Southeast.

Admission is free, with organizers saying the event is open to all ages and no registration is required.

Mandziak said that Saturday afternoon is more kid-friendly, and the evening’s focus will be more on an adult crowd.

A variety of kids’ activities will include face painting, bouncy castles and more. Then, starting at 7 p.m., Mahoney will perform a live concert.

Sunday will be a traditional-style market.
