Families in Medicine Hat will have the chance to enjoy an interactive musical experience this week as Edmonton-based children’s performer Jessica “Seeka” Tyndale brings her Seeka Sings show to the Medicine Hat Public Library.

Tyndale will perform two free shows on Wednesday in the Library Theatre, with performances scheduled for 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.

The Seeka Sings program combines music, movement and storytelling to encourage early learning, social-emotional development and inclusivity. The performances feature a blend of jazz, folk, pop, hip-hop and Afro-Caribbean music designed to engage young audiences while promoting participation and creativity.

A performer and educator with more than 20 years of stage experience and a decade in education, Tyndale has released four award-nominated children’s albums and stars in the children’s television series Seeka’s Skyway, available on TELUS Optik TV and YouTube.

She has performed at schools, libraries, festivals and community events across Canada and internationally.

Her work has earned four Western Canadian Music Award nominations, two Canadian Folk Music Award nominations, an Edmonton Music Award nomination and the 2025 Edmonton Artists’ Trust Fund Award.

The Medicine Hat performances are part of a 10-day tour of libraries throughout the Shortgrass Library System, bringing free family entertainment to communities across southeastern Alberta.

Admission to both performances is free, and all ages are welcome.

The Seeka Sings Tour made stops in Gem and Brooks on Monday.

On Tuesday, there will be a performance at the library in Rolling Hills at 2 p.m.

After the two performances in Medicine Hat on Wednesday, there will be a performance at the library in Irvine at 3 p.m.

Thursday will include a show at the library in Redcliff at 10:30 a.m.

A full 10-day tour schedule is available through the Seeka Sings website.
