BREAKING: Three confirmed dead in plane crash outside of Irvine

CYPRESS COUNTY, AB – According to our news partners with Global News, three people are confirmed dead after a small plane was found crashed outside of Irvine on Sunday morning.

Redcliff RCMP and the Transportation Safety Board of Canada were investigating reports of a plane that took off around 10:15 on Saturday night from the Medicine Hat Airport but never made it to its final destination of Moose Jaw.

According to Shane Paton with Alberta Health Services, three males were killed in the crash and there were no survivors.

There is no word yet on the ages or identities of those involved in the crash.

The last known cellphone tower ping of the aircraft was found to have been in the Irvine area and one local witness has told CHAT News that the plane crash near the Bull Trail with parachutes deployed.

HALO dispatched both its HALO 1 and HALO 2 helicopters to the scene at around 10:00 am in conjunction with the Canadian military’s Joint Rescue Coordination Centre.

CHAT News spoke to RCMP who were unable to provide any details of the crash, while a message has also been left with the Transport Canada.
