Brooks Bandits look to snap three-game losing streak on Wednesday morning

Oct 14, 2026 | 8:16 AM

The Brooks Bandits’ losing streak has hit three games.

A 4-2 loss to the Victoria Grizzlies in the Bandits’ first game of the BCHL Showcase puts the team in their longest losing streak since a four-game skid from Oct. 31-Nov. 8, 2026.

The Bandits will look to right the ship with a win over the Nanaimo Clippers on Wednesday morning at 10 in Nisku.

In May, the Bandits defeated the Clippers to win the BCHL title. This will be the first meeting between the two teams since and only regular season meeting.

Both teams will look to get back in the win column, as the Clippers suffered a 3-2 loss to the Blackfalds Bulldogs on Tuesday.

Heading into the contest, the Bandits are tied with the Okotoks Oilers for top spot in the Interior East Division with identical records of four wins, three losses, and an overtime loss.

The Clippers sit fourth in the Coastal West Division with five wins and four losses. The Grizzlies lead that division with eight wins and two losses.

On Tuesday, the Grizzlies jumped out to a 2-0 lead over the Bandits by the end of the first period with goals from Sander Molde and Tobias Vitek.

Early in the second period, Jeremy Leroux got the Bandits on the board, scoring just 55 seconds in. Credited with assists were Joseph Sinclair and Dmitrijs Dilevka.

A power-play goal from the Grizzlies Evan Gradt at the 6:22 mark of the second would eventually hold up as the game winner.

Peter Ziak would add an insurance goal for the Grizzlies at 2:54 into the third period.

With only a minute and 50 seconds left in the game, the Bandits cut the deficit to 4-2. The Christophe Lussier goal was assisted by Alexandre Monarque and Rylan Hue.

Taking the loss in net for the Bandits was Emile Beaunoyer, who stopped 15 of 19 shots.

Former Bandits goaltender Mikus Vecvanags was sharp in goal for the Grizzlies, stopping 26 of 28 shots faced.
