Industrial Avenue SE to close Tuesday for sanitary sewer repairs

A section of Industrial Avenue SE will close to traffic next week while the City of Medicine Hat carries out sanitary sewer line repairs.

The closure will begin Tuesday, Oct. 13, on a small section of Industrial Avenue between Bridge Street SE and London Avenue SE.

During the work, motorists will be detoured onto Bridge Street SE and Medalta Avenue SE.

The city is asking motorists to follow all posted detour and construction signage and reduce their speed when travelling through the area.

The closure is expected to remain in place until the repairs are complete. Weather permitting, the work will be finished and Industrial Avenue SE will reopen by the end of the day Friday, Oct. 16.

The repairs are part of the city’s ongoing infrastructure renewal work.

Residents and motorists are encouraged to use caution around the construction area and give crews space to safely complete the work.

The City of Medicine Hat thanked residents for their patience and understanding while the sanitary sewer repairs are completed.
