More than 1,800 people attended the third annual Brooks Home & Leisure Show over the weekend, bringing nearly 100 businesses and organizations together at the JBS Canada Centre.

The Southeast Alberta Chamber of Commerce hosted the three-day event from Oct. 2 to 4, with exhibitors showcasing home improvement products, contracting services, retail and lifestyle offerings, tourism services, food and community organizations.

The event gave businesses from across Southeast Alberta an opportunity to meet directly with potential customers, promote their products and services and make new connections.

Brad Tajiri, events manager with the Southeast Alberta Chamber of Commerce, said the turnout showed there is still value in bringing businesses and customers together in person.

“The energy throughout the weekend was fantastic. Exhibitors reported strong engagement, visitors had the opportunity to explore a wide range of products and services, and we saw firsthand how important face-to-face connections remain for local businesses,” Tajiri said.

Attendees were able to learn about products and services from participating businesses, take advantage of show promotions and participate in giveaways and prize draws throughout the weekend.

The Chamber says trade shows can also give businesses a way to build brand awareness, generate sales leads and strengthen relationships with both existing and prospective customers.

For businesses participating in the show, that can mean more than simply having a booth in front of visitors.

The event brought together home improvement specialists, contractors, retailers, lifestyle vendors, tourism operators, community organizations, food vendors and other service providers, allowing businesses the opportunity to reach customers in one location.

Lisa Dressler, executive director of the Southeast Alberta Chamber of Commerce, said creating those opportunities is part of the organization’s role in supporting businesses in the region.

“As a Chamber, our goal is to create meaningful opportunities for businesses to grow, connect, and succeed, and events like the Brooks Home & Leisure Show showcase the entrepreneurial spirit of our region and highlight the tremendous talent and innovation found within our business community,” Dressler said.

The show was the third annual Home & Leisure Show organized by the Southeast Alberta Chamber of Commerce.

The Chamber says planning is already underway for its 2027 event, as well as other upcoming leadership breakfasts, networking opportunities and business-development programming.
