City of Medicine Hat provides more details on newly designated off-leash areas
The City of Medicine Hat is providing more details on its newly designated off-leash areas now that changes to the city’s trail network are in effect.
Since Sept. 8, the changes took effect, making parks, trails and open spaces on-leash unless they are specifically designated as off-leash.
The city says the five designated areas were selected based on their suitability for off-leash use, current popularity and their ability to provide clearer sightlines and more predictable interactions between trail users and dogs.
The three unfenced areas include a section of Echo Dale Regional Park, a corridor along the Ranchlands and Parkview neighbourhoods, and part of the Ross Glen natural area.
