A 78-year-old driver injured after vehicle crashes into Medicine Hat building

A 78-year-old driver sustained minor injuries after a medical condition caused their vehicle to leave the roadway and crash into a Southlands Boulevard building in Medicine Hat.

The Medicine Hat Police Service and other emergency responders were called to the 200 block of Southlands Boulevard SE at about 5:36 p.m. on Sept. 26.

Police say the driver was taken to hospital for assessment, treated and later released, with no other injuries reported.

Damage to the vehicle and building is estimated at about $50,000, but no charges will be laid in relation to the incident.
