Reinforcements back as Tigers being two-game Central Division road swing

Offseason acquisition Brayden Holberton will also make his season debut tonight for the Tabbies after missing opening weekend due to injury.

The Tigers acquired Holberton from the Seattle Thunderbirds this summer, along with a 2026 fifth-round pick, in exchange for 2008-born forward Luke Puchner, a 2026 seventh-round pick and a conditional 2029 third-round pick.

Medicine Hat began the regular season with a pair of wins last weekend against their Highway 3 rival, the Lethbridge Hurricanes, and now has its full complement of weapons, except draft-eligible forward Noah Davidson.

The Rebels picked up their first win of the season last night on the road against the Hurricanes, 4-3, led by 2008-born forward Beckett Hamilton’s first career WHL hat-trick.

Last season the Tigers went 6-0-1-1 against the Rebels, suffering their lone defeats on the road, however, the Tabbies ended their head-to-head strong, scoring eight or more goals in their final four meetings.

Medicine Hat also saw remarkable success on the powerplay against the Rebels last season, operating at nearly 55%.

Puck drop from the Marchant Crane Centrium is set for 6:00 p.m. MST, with the pre-game show beginning at 5:45 on WILD 94.5 FM.
