Cypress County has unveiled a new brand identity as it looks to strengthen how it presents itself to residents, businesses and potential investors.

The county launched its new look and tagline on Friday during a dinner held alongside the SiteLink Forum economic development conference in Dunmore.

The announcement came as economic development professionals, site selectors and local leaders gathered for the three-day forum, which focused on trends, best practices and strategies to support economic development efforts.

The event featured presentations and networking sessions with site selectors from across North America, allowing communities to promote their economic development efforts and connect with people involved in investment and site-selection decisions.

The launch brought together Cypress County council and staff, community partners and economic development leaders.

Cypress County’s rebrand was unveiled to that audience as the county looks to establish a more consistent way of telling its story and highlighting what it offers to businesses, residents and communities.

“As a council, we wanted a brand that reflects both who we are today and where we’re headed tomorrow,” Cypress County Mayor Dan Hamilton said.

“Cypress County has always been a place where people come to build something, whether that’s a business, a farm, a career or a life,” he added.

“This new brand captures that sense of possibility. It reflects our heritage, our independence, and our belief that big things happen when people are given the room to succeed.”

At the centre of the new identity is the tagline “Live big. Build bigger,” which the county says reflects its role as a place where people and ideas have room to grow, with the space, support and practical foundation needed for ambition to develop.

The brand is also supported by accountability statements intended to guide how Cypress County communicates, delivers services and makes decisions.

Those statements emphasize clarity, confidence and practicality, while focusing on creating opportunities for residents, businesses and communities to move forward.

The visual identity draws inspiration from Cypress County’s landscapes, sunshine and strong communities, along with what the county describes as a practical, roll-up-your-sleeves mindset.

The new branding is being introduced through the county’s website, social media channels and communications materials.

As part of that transition, the Cypress County Fire Services Facebook page has been deleted, with its content being folded into the main Cypress County Facebook page.

Additional changes will be made over the coming months as the new branding is applied to signage, facilities, vehicles and other county assets.

Council approved the rebrand Aug. 18 following a branding process carried out with Alberta-based marketing company Unfussy.

The county says the new identity will provide a consistent look, voice and story as it continues efforts to attract investment, support local enterprise and strengthen community pride.

The launch at SiteLink also connected the county’s new public identity with the broader economic development focus of the forum, where communities had opportunities to promote their strengths and make connections with site selectors.

The county describes the rebrand as a public commitment to communicate clearly, act with purpose and create the conditions for residents, businesses, families and communities to build something lasting.

The new brand can be explored on Cypress County’s website beginning Monday, Sept. 21.
