The Medicine Hat Tigers defeated the Lethbridge Hurricanes 5-2 to begin their 2026-27 campaign on a winning foot.
Medicine Hat, Alta., product Josh Evaschesen led the Tigers in scoring, netting a pair of goals, including the game-winner.
Carter Casey had a great showing in net, turning aside 25 shots in the win, earning the game’s third star.
Casey’s play was highlighted by a reach-around glove save after a shot trickled through him late in the second period to clear it off the goal line and keep the Tigers up by one.
