Bridge replacement work underway near Consul on Highway 13

The project is expected to be completed by mid-November, weather permitting.

The work is one of several highway projects underway across Saskatchewan as crews continue construction into the fall.

Highways Minister Kim Gartner is reminding motorists to slow down and follow posted work-zone signs.

“As construction continues into the fall, I encourage drivers to slow down, follow work-zone signage and give crews the space they need to get the job done safely,” Gartner said.

Other projects include an estimated $13.5-million upgrade to more than 11 kilometres of Highway 302 in the Prince Albert area, where crews are completing grading, culvert replacements, intersection improvements and paving.

East of Lloydminster, about 44 kilometres of Highway 303 is also undergoing micro-surfacing, with the $2.6-million project intended to level wheel ruts and prevent further deterioration of the road surface.

That work is expected to be completed by mid-September.

All completion dates are subject to weather.

Drivers can check Saskatchewan’s Highway Hotline for current information about construction, road closures and other disruptions before travelling.

The province says it has invested more than $14.6 billion in transportation infrastructure since 2008, improving more than 22,700 kilometres of highways across Saskatchewan.
