St. Michael’s School in Bow Island evacuated Wednesday morning after CO detected

Students and staff at St. Michael’s School in Bow Island were evacuated Wednesday morning after firefighters responded to a carbon monoxide alarm and detected elevated levels of the dangerous gas inside the building.

The Bow Island Fire Department responded to the school at about 8:15 a.m. after the carbon monoxide alarm was activated.

Occupants were evacuated while firefighters worked to ventilate the building and clear the carbon monoxide from the entire structure.

The scene was cleared and returned to service at about 11:30 a.m.
