Cypress County faced tax relief, water system transfer and golf cart pilot items at meeting Tuesday
Cypress County council dealt with tax penalties, a potential water-system transfer, a proposed golf cart pilot project, several residential development applications and changes to gravel-road maintenance at its meeting on Tuesday.
The tax request came from 1506928 Alberta Ltd., which was seeking relief or a reduction in penalties on an overdue tax account.
The account had an outstanding balance of $53,052.79, including $36,734.21 in penalties and $16,318.58 in taxes. The taxes date back to 2007, with the company making one payment of $2,220.28 on June 30, 2026.
The company underwent an ownership and management change in December 2025 and asked whether penalty relief, a reduction or suspension, could be included as part of a structured repayment arrangement.
