Ranchers warned after report of steer calf shot and harvested southeast of Dunmore

The South East Alberta Rural Crime Watch Association has reported that a steer calf was shot and portions of the animal were harvested from a property in Cypress County, southeast of Dunmore.

The group states that the incident occurred near a grid road sometime between late Friday and early Saturday.

According to a social media post from the association, the cattle were resting near the road when a steer calf was shot. The right shoulder, tongue and lower portion of the animal’s face were then harvested.

The incident was reported to RCMP.
