Medicine Hat police warn of school-related social media trend
Medicine Hat police are warning parents, students and staff about a concerning social media trend involving schools in the area.
The Medicine Hat Police Service says it is aware of social media posts referencing local schools as part of a broader trend being observed across North American communities.
Police say some posts may contain AI-generated or edited images, videos or messages intended to create fear or concern.
MHPS says any information suggesting a threat to a school is taken seriously and is assessed in collaboration with school officials to determine whether there is a credible risk and whether additional measures are needed.
