Alberta announces nearly $21M for sexual violence supports, including Medicine Hat’s Sanare Centre
The Alberta government is investing nearly $21 million to increase access to specialized supports for people affected by sexual violence and abuse.
The funding includes $17 million for 15 sexual assault centres and the Association of Alberta Sexual Assault Services.
Among those receiving funding is the Southeastern Alberta Sexual Assault Response Committee, or Sanare, in Medicine Hat.
The province is also providing $3.7 million in annual funding to eight child advocacy centres, including Sanare in Medicine Hat.
