Medicine Hat Mavericks drop a close game to the 57s, host the Gulls and Beavers on Tuesday
The Medicine Hat Mavericks dropped a close 11-10 contest to the Swift Current 57s on Monday night at Athletic Park.
It was a back-and-forth game where the Mavs fell short at the end.
Medicine Hat took an early lead in the bottom of the first when Evan Morrison hit a triple to start the inning, before Blake Dale hit into a groundout and drove Morrison home to make it 1-0 Mavs.
The 57s would take the lead in the top of the third inning with a pair of runs. With two outs, Keagan Knowler would be walked, and Hudson Unger would hit a single, then Malachi Jaramillo would get hit by a pitch to load the bases. A throwing error would then allow Zach Clow to reach and Knowler and Unger to score.
