Medicine Hat partnership launches Learn to Skate & Resilience Program
A new community partnership in Medicine Hat is allowing local youth to build confidence and resilience through skateboarding.
Our Collective Journey (OCJ), the Medicine Hat Skateboard Association and the Southeast Alberta Community Foundation have launched a free six-week Learn to Skate & Resilience Program for youth aged 12 to 18.
The program combines professional skateboard instruction with resilience coaching and mentorship, with organizers saying the goal is to help participants develop life skills that extend beyond the skate park.
The Southeast Alberta Community Foundation is funding the program, covering the cost of skateboards, safety equipment, meals, instructors and resilience coaching.
