The Yuill School of Agriculture reached another milestone on Thursday with the signing of a construction contract.

Redcliff-based GVN Structures was awarded the construction contract and has signed a deal with Prairie Rose Public Schools to build the facility.

Set to open in the fall of 2027, the new school will serve students in Grades 10 through 12. Construction is set to start this spring.

The facility will offer several agricultural-focused programs in partnership with Neubauer Farms.

It will be located just south of the Trans-Canada Highway between Medicine Hat and Dunmore.

The Yuill Family Foundation has donated the land valued at over $1 million and an additional $600,000 for the construction of the facility.

Support from the Alberta Government is also helping fund the facility by offering $750,000.
