Snowfall warning for Medicine Hat area

Environment Canada issued a yellow warning for snowfall for Medicine Hat and the area at 4:19 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 12, 2025.

Several areas of southeast Alberta and southwest Saskatchewan are under the warning.

Snowfall is expected to continue, with the heaviest snow expected on Friday evening, with amounts near 15 cm.

The highest accumulations are likely south of Highway 1 near the Cypress Hills.

Snow is expected to taper off on Saturday morning, and visibility will likely be reduced at times.

It’s advised to be prepared for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions. Allow extra time for travel, and if driving, turn on your lights, slow down and maintain a safe following distance.
