Roadwork begins on Medicine Hat’s south end

Aug 22, 2025 | 11:28 AM

The City of Medicine Hat said that a section of South Boundary Road and South Ridge Drive is set for paving as part of the annual roadway resurfacing program.

Paving is scheduled to begin on a portion of South Ridge Drive that has been milled adjacent to South Boundary Road on Friday.

Once completed crews will move on to the first of two sections on South Boundary Road starting Monday, Aug. 25.

The west section from South Ridge Drive to Vista Drive will be completed first, and is scheduled to be finished by Thursday, Aug. 28, weather permitting.

Paving on the east section of South Boundary Road near Southlands Drive is scheduled to begin Tuesday, Sept. 2.

The city said to expect delays and drive with caution in these areas, as lane closures will be required to detour traffic through each work zone.

The annual roadway resurfacing program is anticipated to be completed by Sept. 11, according to the city.
