The Medicine Hat area will be well represented at the 2025 Canadian Ball Hockey Super Nationals in Mississauga, Ont. from July 29-Aug. 2.

Playing with Team Alberta at the U17 level will be forwards Carter Allan and Ty Hynes, along with defenceman Jaxon Benci.

It will be the second year in a row Allan and Benci have played for the team, with both part of the bronze medal winning team at the event in Saskatoon last year.

During that tournament Allan was able to lead the tournament in points and score the game winner in overtime to help secure bronze. Also winning an award as one of the tournaments top forwards.

All three were members of the Gas City Ball Hockey League‘s Scorchers team that secured bronze at the U18 level at the provincial tournament held in Medicine Hat this year.

They also were part of a GCBHL U18 team that went 17-0 this past season on their way to a championship.

This will be the third year Allan has headed to nationals taking home bronze in each of the first two trips.

At the U15 level defenceman Gibson Studer will play with the Edmonton Royals, looking to duplicate the teams gold medal at the Western Challenge Cup in Saskatoon earlier this month.

Studer also had the opportunity to compete at nationals last season at the U15 level.

Coming off a silver medal representing Canada at the world level, forward Brianna Finke competed with the U23 Alberta female team in Missisauga from July 22-26.

The team placing fourth after losing their final game in overtime.

Finke had a pair of goals in five games throughout the tournament.
