Medicine Hat Tigers have six players looking to make national teams

The Medicine Hat Tigers have six players invited to national team camps this summer.

Forwards Liam and Markus Ruck will head to the Hockey Canada U18 camp, hoping to make the Hlinka-Gretzky Cup tournament split this year between Brno, Czechia and Trencin, Slovakia from Aug. 11-16, 2025.

The twins represented Canada at the U17 World Challenge last year brining home a gold medal.

Both rookies during the 2024-25 WHL regular season Liam had 41 points with 25 goals in 61 games, while Markus reach 29 points in 62 games.

Also hoping to make the U18 event will be a pair of the Tigers American players.

Forwards Shaeffer Gordon-Carroll and Noah Davidson will attend U-S selection camp in Plymouth, Mich. from July 28-Aug. 3.

As a rookie, Gordon-Carroll had 25 points in 55 games during the 2024-25 WHL regular season.

Davidson who signed with the Tigers in June, is expected to enter his rookie season with the team this fall.

He had 86 points with 50 goals in 72 games with Shattuck-St. Mary’s 18U Prep program last season.

The U17 level has goaltender Cash Christie and forward Luke Ruptash attending camp with Hockey Canada, looking to make the roster for the U17 World Challenge hosted in Truro, N.S. from Oct. 31-Nov. 8, 2025.

Christie got into some backup duty with the Tigers last season, but didn’t see any game action, playing in 16 regular season and playoff games for St. George’s School U18 Prep team in the Canadian Sport School Hockey League.

Ruptash made his Tigers debut last season getting into seven games, while playing the majority of the season with the South Alberta Hockey Academy U18 Prep team.

He had 22 points and 13 goals across 27 games with the CSSHL program.

The Medicine Hat Tigers kick off their WHL preseason Tuesday, Sept. 2 in Lethbridge against the Hurricanes.
