The Lethbridge Police Service (LPS) says it has made a significant drug bust.

At approximately 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 9, officers say they located a man and a woman with outstanding warrants on the 900 block of Mayor Magrath Drive South.

LPS says the man was in possession of 84 grams of cocaine, smaller quantities of controlled substances and $7,030 in cash. He was reportedly riding a stolen electric bike.

A home was later searched, where police claim to have found 51 light-green fentanyl “gummy bears,” as well as items to make them and engage in drug trafficking.

“Between the two locations, officers seized 3753 street doses of cocaine (128 doses), ketamine (363 doses), fentanyl (2,127 doses) and methamphetamine (1,135 doses), as well as an additional $7,400 in cash proceeds of crime, totalling a combined value of over $84,000,” says LPS.

A 61-year old Lethbridge man is charged with production of controlled substance (fentanyl), four counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of the proceeds of crime over $5,000, possession of stolen property, and three counts of breach of release order.

He is remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear in court on July 17.
