Fibre internet coming to four hamlets in County of Forty Mile

Jun 24, 2025 | 7:14 AM

Four communities in the County of Forty Mile will see an upgrade to their internet infrastructure with high-speed fibre internet on the way.

The Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission has approved $3.25 million in funding to install up to 105 kilometres of fibre infrastructure.

It’s part of the CRTC’s action to help connect rural, remote and Indigenous communities as part of the Broadband Fund.

Benefitting from this project will be the hamlets of Winnifred and Whitla located between Seven Persons and Bow Island, as well as Skiff and Legend located west of Foremost.
