City of Medicine Hat invites public to transportation planning open houses

The City of Medicine Hat is inviting residents to attend one of its two open houses to hear about and give feedback on its transportation planning efforts.

The public will have the opportunity to discuss the draft Transportation Master Plan and its associated Active Transportation and Transportation Safety strategies.

The first open house runs from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on March 11 in the Esplanade Arts and Heritage Centre’s studio theatre.

The second will take place the day after from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Medicine Hat College’s Centennial Hall.

Staff and project consultants will be on-hand to answer questions.

The city’s Tansportation Master Plan lays out the long-term vision for a city’s transportation network, encompassing comprehensive strategies, initiatives and road network improvements, the city says.

The three strategies upon approval will outline a plan for Medicine Hat until 2050. Work started on the plans in July 2023.
