Alberta government grant helps fund new ice plant for Redcliff arena
Redcliff Rec-Tangle Arena will get a new ice plant after it received three-quarters of a million dollars through an Alberta government grant.
The Redcliff Minor Hockey Association was awarded $740,000 from the province’s Community Facility Enhancement Program to cover half the cost of replacing 50-year-old machinery.
Alberta’s grant counts for half the cost of the project, with the town covering the other 50 per cent.
Derek Martin, president of the hockey association, said it was a long overdue upgrade that will benefit all those who use the rink.
