Medicine Hat restaurant includes student-pitched dessert item on menu

A dessert menu item pitched by a student at Dr. Ken Sauer Fine Arts School is currently being featured at a Medicine Hat restaurant to promote community engagement.

On Feb. 11, students at the school pitched dessert ideas to a Medicine Hat restaurant as part of their own presentations to learn in various facets from.

Hometown Culinary Inc. said in a Facebook post that “seeing the students work so hard and get so excited about this event was so special for us.”

“It’s the community connections like these that have made our first months in business so rewarding,” the restaurant said.

Max Mielke, who CHAT News spoke with previous to the restuarant’s decision, had his ‘campfire brownie’ dessert chosen by chef Adam Koch at the restaurant.

“Max’s Campfire Brownie blew the judges away and has earned him the new title of Chef Max while we’re serving up his creation to our Hometown guests!” the restaurant said.
