It’s a busy weekend of events in Medicine Hat and area this weekend.

🧥Caring Coats Event

CHAT TV is hosting a Caring Coats event at Arrkann Trailer and RV at 1153 Trans Canada Way Southeast in Medicine Hat, Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Stop by with your gently used winter coats and accessories, and your donations will get to the Salvation Army Resource Centre.

Outside of the drop off event hours, you can drop your donations at the Salvation Army Thrift Store or Arkann during their regular business hours.

🦘Medicine Hat Wildlife Festival

Meet Anteaters, Sloths, Kangaroos, and more at the Medicine Hat Wildlife Festival.

Cobb’s Exotic Animal Rescue out of Calgary is back at the Medicine Hat Exhibition and Stampede Pavillion for another year.

The event will feature three exhibits: Destination Africa, Depths of the Jungle , and Diversity of Living Things.

Three unique 20-minute, hands-on educational programs will cover aspects of each exhibits.

It all begins Friday, from 1 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. with adults only from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Saturday from 10 a.m to 11 a.m. is quiet hour, followed by general admission from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Sunday is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Tickets are available online or at the door.

🏀Wheelchair Basketball Tournament

Medicine Hat Adaptive Sport and Recreation is hosting a Wheel Chair Basketball Tournament Saturday and Sunday at the Big Marble Go Centre gymnasium.

The Medicine Hat Mustangs are the host team with five teams competing from both Alberta and Saskatchewan.

It is free to watch with games beginning Saturday at 9 a.m. and the final game starting on Sunday at 2:15 p.m.

🎸Michael Jackson Tribute and Dinner Theatre

The Medicine Hat Lodge is presenting the MJ Lives Tribute with a deluxe dinner buffet included.

Doors open at 6 p.m., Buffet begins at 7 p.m., MJ Lives Performance goes at 8:30 p.m.

Tickets available online are $69 plus tax and fees.

🦁 Medicine Hat Cubs host pair of home games

The Medicine Hat Cubs have a pair of hockey games at home this weekend as they look to chase down second spot in the Heritage Junior Hockey League South Division to secure a first round playoff bye.

Friday night they host the Coaldale Copperheads at 7:30 p.m.

Sunday the Sylvan Lake Wrangers are in town for a 3 p.m. contest.

Both games played at Kinplex One.

🐍 Rattlers sports

The Medicine Hat College Rattlers will be busy at the snake pit this weekend with volleyball on Friday and Saturday.

Both days competition is against Briercrest College.

Friday the women play at 6 p.m. and the men at 8 p.m.

Saturday the women start at 1 p.m. with the men at 3 p.m.

The women’s hockey team is also at home this weekend with a pair of games against Olds College Friday at 7 p.m. and Saturday at 1 p.m. both at the Moose Recreation Centre.

🏒 Female Hockey Day

The Medicine Hat Minor Hockey Association will host the 2025 Female Hockey Day presented by ATB Financial.

The Hockey Alberta initiative is aimed to bring female players, parents, coaches and supporters together for the development, growth, and celebration of the game.

Hosted at one location per year in the province since 2018, the event has made it’s way to the city this year.

The event runs from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Big Marble Go Centre.

There with be a women’s showcase exhibition game between the South Alberta Hockey Academy U18 prep team and the U18 AAA Calgary Fire at 3:30 p.m.

The game will feature an U7 intermission games, meet and greet, autograph signings, and a question and answer session.

🏒 Minor Hockey

The South East Athletic Tigers hockey clubs have a pair of hockey games this weekend at home.

The U17 AAA team hosts the Lethbridge Headwater Hurricanes Friday night at 7 p.m. at the Hockey Hounds Recreation Centre.

The U15 AA team hosts the East Kootenay Avalanche on Saturday at the Hockey Hounds Recreation Centre starting at 4:45 p.m.

The U18 AA Hounds are at home against the Okotoks Oilers on Saturday at 5:45 p.m. in Kinplex One.

The U16 AA Hounds host the CRAA Gold Royals out of Calgary on Sunday at 3 p.m. at the Hockey Hounds Recreation Centre.

The U13 AA Hounds are at home against the Golden Suns out of Taber on Saturday at 3:15 p.m. in Kinplex One.

🐅 Tigers hockey on radio

The Medicine Hat Tigers still on the United State road trip, ride an 11 game winning streak into their Friday night contest in Portland against Medicine Hat’s Ryan Miller and the Winterhawks at 8 p.m.

Their final game before returing home will be in Kent, Washington on Saturday against the Seattle Thunderbirds at 7:05 p.m.

🦸 TIC TAC presents: Comic Book Night

The Medicine Hat Public Library hosts Teen Comic Book Night at the library for ages 13-19.

Teens are invited to dress up as their favourite superhero, compete in superhero trivia, take pictures in the photo booth, use the button maker, and learn about cosplay.

Snacks and prizes provided.

Doors open from 6:45 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. only, with the event running until 9 p.m.

🎸Kate Reid – Live in Elements

Singer Kate Reid will be taking the stage for two nights at Elements Entertainment Lounge in the Medicine Hat Lodge.

The show begins Friday and Saturday night at 9 p.m.

🎤 Snowed In Comedy Tour

The Snowed In Comedy Tour takes over the stage at the Esplanade Arts and Heritage Centre on Saturday night at 7:30 p.m.

The biggest comedy tour in Canada, has toured across the country and internationally.

Performing are Dan Quinn, Paul Myrehaugh, Pete Zedlacher, and Erica Sigurdson.

Limted tickets remain through tixx.ca.

🎤 Groundhog Day Comedy Contest

Celebrate the unofficial holiday on Saturday at Mad Hatter Comedy Club with a Groudhog Day Comedy Contest.

Doors open at 7 p.m. with showtime from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.
