Here is what’s on this weekend in Medicine Hat and area: Jan. 24-26

It’s a busy weekend of events in Medicine Hat and area this weekend.

🎸Country Music Concert

The Country Night in Canada Tour has a stop Friday night at Ralph’s Texas Bar & Steak House.

Performers include Steven Lee Olsen and Jojo Mason.

The show starts at 7:30 p.m.

🎸Sloan at Esplanade

Canadian indie rock band Sloan is playing at the Esplanade on Saturday.

The show starts at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets are $70 available through tixx.ca

🐍 Rattlers sports

The Medicine Hat College Rattlers will be busy at the snake pit this weekend with volleyball on Friday and Saturday.

Both days competition is against Red Deer Polytechnic.

Friday the women play at 6 p.m. and the men at 8 p.m.

Saturday the women start at 1 p.m. with the men at 3 p.m.

The first and only home games for the Rattlers futsal teams goes in the snake pit Saturday against Lethbridge Polytechnic.

The women start at 6 pm. and the men at 7:30 p.m.

The women’s hockey team is also at home this weekend with a game against the SAIT Trojans Friday 7 p.m. at the Moose Recreation Centre.

🏒 Bandits hockey

A pair of home games this weekend for the Brooks Bandits.

First they host the Penticton Vees on Friday night at Centennial Regional Arena in Brooks at 7 p.m.

It’s a battle of the top two teams in the BCHL, with singer Travis Dolter performing the anthem and performing during the intermission.

It will be Healthcare Night at the CRA on Saturday night for the Bandits as they host the Spruce Grove Saints at 7 p.m.

Entry for healthcare workers will be $10.

🐅 Tigers hockey on radio

The Medicine Hat Tigers are in the United States and don’t play at home again until Feb. 7.

Their first game of their six game American road trip is Friday night against the Spokane Chiefs beginning at 8:05 p.m.

They will be in action on Saturday taking on the Tri-City Americans at 7:05 p.m.

Tune in live to Wild 94.5 radio for coverage of both games.

🏊 Free Swim at Big Marble Go Centre

Grab your goggles and jump in!

A free public swim event takes place on Saturday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Kinsmen Aquatic Park.

The monthly event is sponsored by the Kinsmen Club of Medicine Hat.

🦸 Comic and Card Swap

An event at the Medicine Hat Public Library is calling all teen collectors to their event Saturday at 2:30 p.m.

Encouraging them to bring their collectibles, cards and comics to trade with others.

A limited number of items will also be provided to trade for those who don’t have anything to bring.

The event is in collaboration with Our Collective Journey

❄️ Servus Free Family Skate

The Servus Free Family Skate take place on Sunday at Co-op Place.

It runs from noon until 4 p.m. and promises a magical afternoon of frosty fun, where the enchanting world of Disney’s Frozen comes to life!

An opportunity to skate with characters from the movie Frozen, Princess Anna and Queen Elsa.

Free hot chocolate will be provided, along with a number of family activities and face painting.

🎤 Live Comedy and Black Jack at the Lodge

Calgary comedian Allyson Smith takes the stage at Elements Entertainment Lounge in the Medicine Hat Lodge Friday at 8 p.m.

There will be a $10 cover fee.

It’s also ladies night at Copper Coulee Casino starting at 5 p.m. and running through the evening.

A ladies only black jack table will be set up with a learn to play session from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

🎤 Karaoke Night

Casa Amigos Cantina in downtown Medicine Hat has Karaoke night starting at 9 p.m. Friday night.

Josh Hopkins is the host.
