It’s a quiet weekend in Medicine Hat but there’s still a few things going on in the community.

Precipitation is the name of the game. The high on Friday will be 3 C with a few showers, Saturday will peak at 0 C and Sunday will bring -1 C with a chance of flurries.

Here is what’s on in Medicine Hat and area this weekend.

🎙 Comedy roast

The Mad Hatter Comedy Club is hosting its Comedy Roast to Everything 2024 on Saturday.

Doors open at 7 p.m., drink specials are available until 7:30 p.m. and the show runs 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.

📽 Drive-in movie for kids

The Medicine Hat Public Library is hosting a drive-in movie event from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday.

Kids can unleash their creativity by building their very own cardboard cars before cruising into a cozy spot to enjoy a selection of Pixar shorts, organizers say.

It’s aimed at ages four to six.

Registration is required.

🐯 Tigers home game

The Medicine Hat Tigers will look to carry winning momentum into their game Friday with the Red Deer Rebels.

The Rebels are a team they have faced five times this season and have only defeated once.

Puck drop is at 7 p.m. at Co-op Place.

🍴 The Art of Gnocchi

After a brief tour of the Esplanade Arts and Heritage Centre’s “Have Spatula, Will Travel” exhibition, expert chef Nicolas Barron will give a 2.5-hour beginner-friendly gnocchi-making workshop.

This unique blend of history, culture, and hands-on cooking will make for an unforgettable gnocchi experience, organizers say.

No prior skills are required and all materials will be provided, according to the event page.

It runs from 12 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. It will also run again on Jan. 25.

⚒️ Winter gnomes

Shabby Vintage Belle hosting another craft workshop.

Friday at 6 p.m. those interested are invited to come create winter gnome door hangers.

Tickets are $32. People can message The Shabby Vintage Belle to attend.

🎉 Latin Night

DJ Zaga is performing for Latin Night at Casa Amigos.

It starts at Friday at 7 p.m.
