City of Medicine Hat’s landmark environmental framework to come forward for approval

The City of Medicine Hat’s landmark environmental framework is coming forward for final approval at Monday’s council meeting.

READ: Medicine Hat takes first step forward into environment policy with goals approval

Council approved funding for the framework’s development in the 2022-23 budget in support of its strategic priorities.

Progress reports and a draft framework were presented to council over the course of 2023 and came before a council committee-of-the-whole meeting in March.

Water, energy and air, ecosystem and agriculture, recycling and waste management and community and land development are included in the framework.
