Big Brothers Big Sisters hitting the lanes for 50th anniversary

Big Brothers Big Sisters will be rolling out the gold carpet at Panorama Lanes for the organization’s 50th anniversary this Friday.

The Bowl For Kids event has been a major success the the program, having raised over $100,000 last year for kids in need.

Executive Director Holly Stadnicki said that 1,249 Medicine Hat children were supported through the program last year and with the amount raised last year, Big Brothers Big Sisters was able to expand its reach drastically.

“It’s wonderful. We actually competed against Lethbridge and we just blew there socks off,” Stadnicki said.

“Medicine Hat just did a terrific job of raising funds for Big Brothers Big Sisters and those funds from Bowl For Kids really helped us last year,” she added.

“We experienced a lot of expansion, we’re in Brooks and we’re doing a number of rural programs this year.”
