Medicine Hat high school went into lockdown after ‘concerning’ social media post

Medicine Hat High School went into lockdown Wednesday morning after a “concerning” post to social media made by a student, the school said in a news release.
High school staff carried out a search and found concerning items after police had let the high school know about the social media post, according to the release.
A lockdown was called at about 9:45 a.m. but, amid an investigation, it was downgraded to a hold and secure at 10:10 a.m., the school said.
The student who made the concerning post was located and removed from the school. A message sent to parents seen by CHAT News said the student was also interviewed.
